One of the advantages of being an international student in Australia is that you are permitted to work part time while you study. You can work up to 20 hours per week while your course is in session. However, you cannot start work until you have commenced your course in Australia. If the student is married and the spouse went on dependent visa to Australia the spouse is also allowed to work 20 hours per week. The spouse of students doing Masters course can work full time.
